Together with his practice as visual artist, Alex Urso is as well engaged in curatorial
projects and critical writing.
As curator and art critic, Urso is preeminently interested in the relation between the Italian
and the Polish art. For this reason most of his projects as curator are mainly related to the
investigation of common topics between the two cultures, as well as the conception of
bounds between artists and institutions of both countries.
In these years Urso has been collaborating with private and public art spaces, such as
National Gallery of Art – Zachęta, and the Italian Institute of Culture of Warsaw. In 2017
has been co-curator of the Biennale de La Biche – The smallest art biennale in the world.
From 2015, he writes about art for the Italian art magazine Artribune, as correspondent from
Poland and east-European countries. As well for Artribune, he is responsible for
Fantagraphic, a regular column of comic books and underground culture. From 2014 to
2017 he is been editor for the Italian art magazine Lobodilattice. His writing has been
published by magazines such as Contemporary Lynx, InsideArt, among others.
